Ghemu Farm has been named a finalist in the Best New Business category at the West London Chambers Business Awards 2026.

The awards recognise businesses across West London and celebrate their achievements, growth and contribution to the local business community.
A new chapter
Ghemu Farm was created by Alexandra Ghemu as a sister brand to IVA PLANTS, bringing together her family’s preserving traditions, her horticultural background and her interest in growing food.
Alexandra first learnt to make preserves alongside her grandmother. The methods, recipes and understanding of seasonal ingredients were passed down through generations of women in her family. After studying horticulture in the UK and beginning to grow more of her own produce, she decided to return to those traditions and develop them into a business.
“Ghemu Farm is still very new, so being selected as a finalist already feels especially meaningful,” Alexandra says. “It began with skills and recipes I grew up with, but also with the wish to preserve seasonal produce carefully and give traditional foods a place in modern life.”
From a family recipe to a Great Taste award
The flagship product is Traditional Quince & Lemon Jam, made in West London using a family recipe more than 80 years old. The jam takes three days to prepare and contains pieces of quince and lemon, giving it an intentionally rich texture.
In July 2026, Traditional Quince & Lemon Jam received a Great Taste 1-Star award from the Guild of Fine Food.
Alongside the quince jam, Ghemu Farm produces small seasonal batches of preserves and naturally fermented foods. A limited batch of greengage jam, made with locally grown fruit, sold out at the end of August.
Looking ahead
Ghemu Farm is now beginning to move into independent retail while continuing to produce in small batches. Its first wholesale order was delivered in August 2026, marking an important step for the young brand.
The longer-term vision is to bring growing and making closer together. Alexandra is already raising young quince trees with the hope of developing a small orchard and eventually using more home-grown ingredients in Ghemu Farm products.
The winners of the West London Chambers Business Awards 2026 will be announced at the Gala Dinner on 20 November 2026 at Novotel London West in Hammersmith.
